body repair

Performs a variety of jobs relating to the repair of body & cab of Heavy & light equipment, upholstery, and seat cushions. Works according to established craft standards.

INDEPENDENCE OF OPERATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Report to In-Charge Painter / Body Repairman.
  • In-Charge provides work requirements, and instruction on new assignments and checks completed work for accuracy.

CONTACTS:

  • Maintain daily contact with the immediate Supervisor for work assignments, guidance and assistance.
  • Maintain harmonious working relations with colleagues.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cuts, shapes and fabricates all kinds of light gauge metals, working from drawings, sketches, or samples.
  • Carries out denting and repairs of body & cabs of Heavy equipment, metal, and/or fiberglass. 
  • Replace windshields and other glasses. 
  • Disassembles repairs, installs, adjusts, and services Repairs door and window operating mechanisms.
  • Repair upholstery and seat cushions.
  • Uses all hand tools required for trade and electrical & pneumatic tools such as grinder, sander, etc., measuring instruments, and mechanical aides such as the guillotine, light sheet rollers, bending machines, and shaping machine. 
  • Carries out other related duties such as welding, soldering, brazing, riveting, etc.
  • Ensures the work area is kept clean and tidy always and adheres to the Company’s safety regulations.

JOB KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION:

  • Completion of Primary education (4 years).
  • Five years of experience with Heavy equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in body repair work within automotive fields, with knowledge and practical experience in denting and repair jobs of body and cab structures, door and windows mechanism replacement of windshields and other glasses, upholstery, and cushions repairs.
  • Good knowledge of English (Spoken & Written).
